Digital empowerment is now bringing about a global industry revolution. The rise of the Internet has not only created many enterprise giants and a huge virtual economy, but also made remarkable progress on the consumption. Driven by the user-centric product philosophy, a series of innovations in business models, products and services have been realized, the essence of which is a comprehensive and profound understanding and exploration of user needs through the combination of the Internet and a series of technologies and scenarios. Therefore, the concept of "Internet+" enables traditional enterprises to optimize production factors, update business systems and reconstruct business models by means of Internet and information technology and thinking, thus promoting the customer-centric supply-side reform.
In order to explore the application of digitalization in a holistic view, we may as well abstractly simplify all complex industrial chains into supply-side and demand-side. In the past, people tended to habitually take the supply side as the starting point of this chain, as it was widely accepted that manufacturers played a dominant role in product development and then sold products to customers by marketing. However, in the future, the chain should start with the value demand of the demand side. The demand for productivity on the supply side comes from the delivery of value on the demand side, which is an important shift in the digital revolution.
The global economy enters a period of digital transformation, which is a necessary option for companies to optimize efficiency, intelligent products and services, and strengthen competitiveness. It requires enterprises to continuously cultivate new capabilities from the changes in industries, customer needs and industry competition, so as to push forward the digital transformation step by step. Only through a side-to-side model throughout the entire process from demand initiation to demand satisfaction, can one-stop innovative services for the customer service and value chains truly achieve digital transformation.
